ware has own museum in 2008 received full accreditation museums, archives , libraries council. museum independent , run volunteers. in 2012/2013 ware museum home great bed of ware on loan 1 year victoria , albert museum in london. bed reputedly haunted ghost of maker, jonas fosbrooke, said harass non-royal person attempts sleep in bed.

in bluecoat yard place house, ware s oldest extant surviving building. dates 14th century, additions in 16th , 17th centuries, , once ware s manor house. has crown post roof.


maltmaker statue

the statue of maltmaker unveiled in november 1999 outside st mary s church in time millennium celebrations. statue commemorates days in ware principal malt supplier london specialising in brown malt beer known porter , premier malting town in england 140 malt houses 1880; these have closed. maltmaking days of ware @ peak in 18th century despite having been initiated in middle ages.
