in 1965, cousteau oceanaut on conshelf iii, undersea habitat saturated diving down 325 feet near ile levant in mediterranean sea. in addition duties oceanaut, cousteau underwater photographer , did of underwater filming, became national geographic documentary film aired in 1966.


in february 1967, cousteau accompanied father on rv calypso expedition film sharks of red sea , indian ocean. being lead photographer expedition, cousteau chronicled experiences in 1970 publication shark: splendid savage of sea.


in 1969, cousteau lent technical expertise u.s. navy s sealab program. in aftermath of aquanaut berry l. cannon s death while attempting repair leak in sealab iii, cousteau volunteered dive down sealab , return surface, although sealab salvaged in less hazardous way.


until death in 1979, co-produced numerous documentaries father, including voyage edge of world (1976, cinema theatres) , own pbs series, oasis in space (1977, television), concerning environmental issues.
