in 1980 silvio denz took on management of zurich-based alrodo ag, @ time owned father , uncle. 8 employees, company purchased perfumes , cosmetics imported perfumery retailers. after acquiring equity in alrodo in 1984, built company on next 20 years become switzerland s largest perfumery chain, 120 branches. between 1980 , 2000, number of employees rose 8 800. in 2000 denz sold alrodo french perfumery chain marionnaud. in same year founded art & fragrance s.a. specializing in creation, production , marketing of perfume , cosmetic brands such perfumes alain delon, parfums grès, perfumes lalique, jaguar fragrances, bentley fragrances , ultrasun.

silvio denz accumulated world s largest private collection of vintage perfume bottles designed rené lalique, comprising on 650 original pieces. in 2008 art & fragrance s.a., company founded denz in 2002 , quoted on berne stock exchange since 2007, acquired french crystalware house lalique s.a.. company became profitable again after being restructured, branding focused on art, decorative items, interior design, jewellery , perfume. co-branding projects developed between lalique , various other luxury brands (including bentley, macallan , steinway & sons). collaborations signed artists such zaha hadid, jean-michel jarre, damien hirst, , elton john, resulting in collections company, in cases. in 2011, lalique museum in wingen-sur-moder (alsace) opened display more 650 pieces designed rené lalique , successors, including jewellery, crystal , decorative glass. denz loaned 230 pieces personal collection, perfume bottles. denz converted rené lalique s villa in wingen-sur-moder luxury hotel , restaurant, opened in september 2015.

in 1994 silvio denz, along franz wermuth , 5 other partners, founded les grand vins wermuth s.a., split denz weine (distribution) , wermuth auktionen ag (auctions) in zurich. in 1998, acting same partners, bought clos d agon estate on costa brava, overseen oenologist peter sisseck (dominio pingus). in 2002 denz bought stake in spanish wine trading company casa de vino ebinger s.a., owned friend frank ebinger, domiciled in zurich.

in 2005, on recommendation of friend count stephan von neipperg (château canon-la-gaffelière , la mondotte), denz bought château faugères estate, 6 kilometers east of saint emilion. faugères, has 30 employees, comprises 3 vineyards: château faugères, château péby faugères, both lying in saint-emilion appellation, , château cap-de-faugères in côtes de castillion. in 2007 bought château de chambrun, situated in lalande-de-pomerol, , in 2010, , peter sisseck took on vineyard of château rocheyron in saint-emilion. estates in bordeaux cover total of 120 hectares.

the winery @ château faugères designed architect mario botta. describes creation cathedral of wine . using modern technology coupled traditional methods, such gravity-filling, wines aged in oak barrels. in 2012 château faugères , château péby faugères awarded status of grand cru classé of saint-emilion. according wine critic robert parker, château péby faugères today ranks among finest bordeaux wines. in 2015 influential parker s wine buyer s guide rated château péby faugères vintage 2005 100/100. in february 2014, silvio denz acquired château lafaurie-peyraguey, 1 of few premiers grands crus classés of 1855 , 1 of oldest vineyards in sauternes. silvio denz s wine businesses held in art & terroir.

on september 17th 2017, silvio denz inducted saint-emilion jurat . jurade of saint-emilion consists of 127 jurats , more 3000 saint-emilion wine ambassadors worldwide. in october 2017, awarded special jury prize fond’action alsace active involvement in alsace region. in same month, went on receive guillon d’or award guillon d’or award , vaudois wine brotherhood founded in 1954, commending passion , performance in world of wine.
