there church , historic centre drei-röhren-brunnen (“three-pipe fountain”). gotthardsruine, half of within amorbach’s town limits, there panoramic view on odenwald , on spessart (range).

the gotthardsruine, gothic column basilica, stands on summit of nearby gotthardsberg. here 1 has magnificent view 7 dales , surrounding hills. “gotthard”, once “frankenberg”, has eventful history. time robber-baron’s castle , later convent.
the first written account has come down present goes year 714. gaugraf (regional count) ruthard von frankenberg supposedly called missionaries saint pirmin , amor “gotthard”. during german peasants war (1525), rebels laid “gotthard” in rubble , ashes. in 1631, church built anew abbot erhard landecker. on 8 june 1714, gotthard basilica struck lightning , destroyed. ruins, such today, restored in 1956.
dreiröhrenbrunnen
the dreiröhrenbrunnen (“three-pipe fountain”) found in weilbach’s community core, right @ intersection. has great sandstone trough baroque relief. water squirts out through 3 spouts. fountain appears in municipality’s coat of arms, held 1 of landmarks. @ opening of carnival (known locally fasching) weilbacher frösch carnival company on 11 november, water dyed green.
mudmühle
on northwest route out of weilbach stands mill renaissance gable converted mainz court master builder ambrosius brosamer in 1585.
hallsteine
these collection of interesting ancient stones on hallhöhe (heights) in weilbach’s west. signposted hiking trail leads natural monument.
glockenspiel
the glockenspiel added town hall in december 1991 24 bells. these ring daily @ 9:10, 12:10 , 18:10. financed private initiative weilbach citizens , clubs under umbrella of heimatverein weilbach-weckbach e.v. (local historical society).
since 25 june 2006, glockenspiel – expanded 37 bells – plays in specially built tower on old schoolyard. 1 particularity glockenspiel can played hand, making rarity in bavaria, there 5 functional carillons.
