from 1966 onwards group of volunteers has been working on preservation of corris railway s infrastructure. in 1981 maespoeth junction site returned railway ownership under auspices of corris railway society , engine shed once again serves original purpose home railway s locomotives, , engineering headquarters. engine shed grade ii listed building, , attracted large heritage lottery fund grant fund re-roofing of both engine shed , associated s&t shed.


the original s&t shed south of engine shed survives, being used volunteer s mess , small museum. building separate engine shed, space between 2 has been roofed provide toilet block.


the original signal box did not survive, new signal box built in 1990s on same site original. controls points , signals around junction.


in 2009 large new carriage shed, largely built volunteers corris railway society, opened on east side of site. building headquarters of railway s passenger carriage construction programme, being base overhauling of freight , engineering vehicles.
