cloyne has round tower town s symbol. tower dates 560 a.d. when st. colman founded monastery. in 1749 lightning strike caused damage top of tower. there ruins of norman watchtower on hill overlooking town. church of ireland cathedral dates 1250 a.d. , available visit between 3:00 p.m. , 5:00 p.m. after sunday service held @ 12:00 p.m. local catholic church, st. colmans, built in 1815 , celebrates mass every day of week.
