henrik wenzel trained chemical engineer technical university of denmark (dtu) in 1982. after graduation started career in field of industrial water management , cleantech, first case officer in ringkøbing county(1982-1988), , project manager on biogas r&d, nordic folkecenter renewable energy (1984-1986) , chairman of board of western jutland energy , environment bureau (1986-1988).

he worked research associate @ technical university of denmark (1988-1989) , senior consultant @ water quality institute (vki) of danish academy of technical sciences (1989-1991), worked wastewater consultant many of largest water consumers in danish chemical , biotech industry cleantech consultant in textile , paper industry in denmark , abroad, in eastern europe (for example poland) , south africa.

in 1991, henrik employed project manager (1991-1994) , later head (1994-2005) of life cycle centre @ institute product development (ipu), headed development of internationally recognized edip methodology life cycle assessment , eco-design of industrial products in co-operation colleagues , leading danish manufacturing companies. employed associate professor @ technical university of denmark 1999 2007.

henrik received dades prize, in 1996 , co-received nordic council’s great nature , environment prize in 1997 (together colleagues ipu) , eu environmental prize on national level in 1997 (together colleagues edip project).

university of southern denmark

in 2007, henrik moved university of southern denmark , founded international life cycle group (now sdu life cycle engineering). group grew 1 person in 2007 15 persons in 2015 under leadership.

at sdu, has focused research on sustainable development , system integration of societal infrastructure, waste & resource management systems, energy & transport systems , biomass & agricultural systems.

due contribution research , regional development of funen, henrik awarded fyns stiftstidendes forskerpris in 2015.
