state route 285 defined in 1970 route 70 on west street in portola northwesterly north city limits, lake davis via humbug canyon, , easterly grizzly reservoir via south shore of lake. deleted in 1998 because of problems right of way , drainage. route never constructed. according caltrans photolog, old alignment route 285 same existing west street (in portola) , lake davis road northeast grizzly road northeast of big grizzly creek.
