the fh established east german government on 25 september 1952. function assist volkspolizei ( people s police ) in fighting crime , border violation , protecting public goods. fh had right control traffic , called upon take part in search , manhunt operations. furthermore, there intended educational effect east germans, because fh volunteers on patrol in residential areas , workplaces. fh volunteers fulfilled patrol missions in plain clothes, identifiable armband. fh disbanded few days before german reunification in 1990.
