in free time, mccourt took casual sport of rowing. once sank wintech recreational single scull on mohawk river in new york, , had rescued local rowing team.
it announced in may 2009 mccourt had been treated melanoma , in remission, undergoing home chemotherapy. on july 19, 2009, died cancer, meningeal complications, @ hospice in manhattan.
