facilities

the school on 45-acre (180,000 m) fenced campus on outskirts of sherbrooke in viewing distance of bishops university , lennoxville. constructed concrete blocks , red brick in celtic cross-shape, nestled in depression surrounding roadway level second floor. central block three-floors high administrative offices , auditorium on ground floor; cafeteria, kitchens, , music rooms on second floor; , library alone on top floor.


the gym s east wall butts against stage wall of auditorium on level lower ground floor. classrooms, shops, , labs in 3 wings, each divided 2 houses. wings connected central block glass walkways on second , third floors, courtyard on ground level. (in years wings yellow, orange, red, purple, blue , green. students assigned homeroom students grades, , had locker.)


each of stairwells have outside exits. school has limited structural accommodations wheelchair or limited mobility users. part of building (one wing) used eastern townships technical institute — vocational education center.

outdoor sports , recreation

the school boasts large outdoor greenspace consists of 5 soccer fields, 2 baseball fields, football field , 2 running tracks. running tracks consist of 1 paved, five-lane track encircles football field , backed dirt trail hugs outside perimeter of school property endurance running. of these (minus half of soccer field) out of bounds students during school day.


during winter season, school clears of soccer fields winter activity days (winter carnival, etc.).


indoor sports , recreation centre

the school contains 1 wing multi-functional gymnasium, , boys , girls changerooms. there 1 large gymnasium , smaller gym in t-configuration. large gym can divided using curtains can automatically raised or lowered ceiling. using curtains, space can divided allow 2 full-sized basketball courts or 4 half-sized courts. curtains reduce noise , distractions multiple classes or groups using space simultaneously. smaller gymnasium contains rock climbing wall, half-size basketball court, , equipped weight training room.


auditorium

the auditorium between central hub , gymnasium. public access quite easy, unlike navigating in rest of building. has seating capacity of 600 people , wheelchair access. auditorium equipped professional theatre standard sound , lighting equipment system. each year, community invited attend school s showpiece theatrical production. auditorium has been used movie theatre students, when gym closed maintenance or activity. majority of seats in auditorium original school s opening in 1969. of seats in have been replaced due damage, involuntarily encouraging users sit in of auditorium.


cafeteria

the cafeteria has seating capacity of 1,000 people , serves hot lunches every day students fee ($5.50). in centre hub on second floor.


library

the library in central hub of building, on third floor. library offers students access 28,000 books , 14 computers, racks of laptops left on enhanced learning strategy (els).


computer access

the school has many portable apple laptops , desktop computers internet access. (see enhanced learning strategy.)
