the main source of nightlife forum, offers live entertainment , club facilities region of hertfordshire. total capacity of 2,000, forum houses 3 entertainment spaces, restaurant, café, multiple bars , onsite parking. local pub on campus, revamped ele house, holds seats, big screen tvs, , pool tables providing convenient location socialise. hertfordshire students union (hsu) students union of university of hertfordshire. students union social centre opened in 1977. hatfield technical college s management encouraged establishment of student representative council (src) in 1982, create sense of unity , expand social activities of day students. src affiliated national union of students restricted largely social activities. after 1988 began campaign on issues such improvements canteen, lifting ban on religious or political activity within hatfield polytechnic, , formal students union. sectarian ban lifted in 1992 , union granted in 1995. however, canteen continued issue throughout 2000s. students union @ university of hertfordshire represents students in university organising campus activities , running different clubs , societies, sports entertainment.
