infinite warfare set in distant future, after earth has been stripped of natural resources result of population growth , industrial expansion, prompting nations of world unite , form united nations space alliance (unsa), political organization handles matters related trade, travel, land claims , efforts relating human space colonization. residents of earth rely on colonies established elsewhere in solar system in order mine planets , asteroids resources. value of these outposts, however, attracts militant radicals seek control them; action place countries of earth in unfavorable position. in response, unsa defended solar associated treaty organization (sato), coordinated military structure defends earth , unsa s holdings. however, prior events of game, new hostile faction emerges, known settlement defense front (sdf), consists of insurgents broke away united nations space alliance during war of secession. following years of troubled stalemate front, relations have deteriorated point entire solar system poised on brink of war. events of game, settlement defense front declares war on unsa , launches surprise attack on geneva, severely weakening sato s forces on earth.

plot
a unsa special forces team sent secret unsa weapons research facility on europa investigate sdf attack , recover prototype weapon before initiating facility s self-destruct. team able destroy facility, fails recover weapon , captured sdf, subsequently executed 1 of sdf s main commanders, admiral kotch.
on earth, reyes warns admiral raines sdf attack tantamount declaration of war , unsa should preparing counterattack. however, admiral raines explains unsa s leaders not want escalate situation, during fleet week celebrations entire unsa fleet gathers @ geneva. during celebrations, links wingman salter new robotic subordinate e3n ethan . suddenly, unsa s aatis defense cannons begin open fire on unsa fleet, decimating many ships sdf assault force invades geneva. reyes manages fight way aatis control tower, manages shut down aatis cannons , apprehend riah, sdf spy responsible sabotaging them. reyes accompanies surviving unsa ships orbit destroy attacking sdf fleet. sdf s flagship, olympus mons, arrives , destroys more unsa ships before forced retreat, leaving 2 operational unsa ships: carrier retribution , destroyer tigris.
upon landing on retribution, reyes learns both ship s captain , executive officer killed in battle, leaving him highest-ranking officer of ship , de facto captain. admiral raines promotes reyes commander , tasks him retaking cargo port on moon sdf. after liberating moon, reyes given mission delay sdf long possible until unsa can rebuild fleet. @ point, reyes can embark on number of optional missions attack key sdf targets. eventually, reyes manages destroy strategic refueling tower on titan, crippling sdf s fuel supply. sent investigate disturbance @ asteroid mining station near mercury, find diversion while sdf destroys tigris, leaving retribution sole remaining unsa ship. learning riah carrying beacon meant signal main sdf fleet invade earth, reyes devises plan use beacon lure sdf fleet right still operational aatis guns. unfortunately, plan goes awry when riah escapes, destroys aatis guns, , kills himself trigger beacon. main sdf arrives , olympus mons destroys unsa headquarters, killing admiral raines.
with no other options, reyes decides use opportunity board , commandeer olympus mons. manages battle way bridge , kill admiral kotch. has olympus mons travel mars, intends use ship destroy sdf s orbital shipyard , cripple fleet in return. while olympus mons , retribution manage destroy many sdf ships, olympus mons suffers damage use weapons reyes orders ram shipyard. unfortunately, retribution suffers damage , drifts olympus mons flight path, forcing reyes order ship divert. both warships crash onto surface of mars shipyard still intact.
realizing there s no way them earth alive, reyes rallies survivors of retribution crew , leads them on 1 final, desperate assault on shipyard. of surviving crew killed in fighting, salter manages commandeer sdf destroyer. however, weapons disabled , mooring clamps locked. ethan sacrifices himself destroy moorings while reyes activates destroyer s weapons , orders salter destroy station, despite him being on it. salter reluctantly opens fire, ejecting reyes space. last sight seeing sdf shipyard explode before killed flying shrapnel.
some time later, unsa honors reyes , retribution crew s heroic sacrifice, stating destruction of sdf shipyard decisive victory. salter, 1 of 4 survivors retribution, salutes war memorial in geneva listing names of of unsa soldiers died in conflict, including reyes.

the 4 actors teleported final film, beast beyond , arrive @ futuristic military station on ice planet, battle against cryptid aliens extinction series, mixture of zombies previous 4 films. after fighting against herd of cryptids, 4 retrieve final piece of soul key, , seemingly teleported wyler s theater, joyfully greets them. without letting him explain himself, 4 actors furiously send wyler spaceland movie using own method, realize have become slaves demon mephistopheles in wyler s place. mephistopheles himself appears in front of 4 actors, , threatens consume souls; 4 arm final battle against demon. after seemingly winning against him, 4 teleported theater, still find unable escape. in reality, revealed trapped inside soul jar, contains pocket universes representing theater each of wyler s films. meanwhile, wyler enlists hasselhoff s in spaceland once more in attempt escape movie. reunites 4 actors @ theater , reconciles them 5 begin plot next move.
