st brigid s church in liscannor built in 1858. single-cell, four-bay church built of rubble masonry. new roof later added gallery, y-mullioned windows , semi-tudor door retained. although construction of round tower suggested in 1920s, touheran tower have housed bell cottage industries on lower floors never built.


liscannor has been referred pope s own parish . located in diocese of kilfenora, of pope bishop , bishop of galway apostolic administrator, liscannor mensal parish, i.e. directly under direct authority of bishop.

the church of moymore built in 1877, on elevated site overlooking bay. there no church @ location. before people of area attended mass in small thatched chapel quarter mile east in caheraderry (derry).

the caheraderry (derry) church dates 17th century penal times, built either facilitate travelling friars or possibly out-chapel or hermitage kilmacreehy church. possible church contained small loft priest lived, in toomullin church in doolin. ten perches of adjacent land belonging church seem indicate there priest in residence used garden. beside ruins stand 2 small one-room attached cottages. according local tradition, 1 of these cottages sheebeen known gleeson’s , other schoolhouse, hedge-schoolmaster taught.
