early years
venta born in pola de siero, asturias. after playing career modest spanish clubs bought in 1999 villarreal cf, spend next 3 seasons farm team (cd onda) , on loan stints.
he made la liga debut in latter predicament in 2001–02 season, playing 29 league games cd tenerife ranked second bottom.
villarreal / levante
in 2002–03 venta returned villarreal , went on become steady first-choice throughout season. in 2004–05 campaign appeared in 32 matches, valencian side achieved club-high third place; subsequently named spain manager luis aragonés in provisional 27-man squad 2006 fifa world cup, did not make final cut.
in late april 2010, announced both 34-year-old venta , robert pirès leaving villarreal. during 3 years fought first-choice status Ángel lópez, both appearing in same number of games. in late august signed 1 year levante ud, returned top division after two-year absence.
venta started in 25 of 26 appearances in second season, totalling 2,224 minutes of action levante finished sixth , qualified uefa europa league first time in history. did not have offer renew expiring contract, however, , returned villarreal second stint.

on 11 july 2013, aged 37, venta moved abroad first time in career, joining football league 1 club brentford on one-year deal option extend second season depending on appearances. scored goal club in 5–3 win against afc wimbledon season s football league trophy on 3 september, marked fourth , final overall appearance; had contract terminated mutual consent on 30th, , returned spain personal reasons.
