deliberation days organised oclp on 9 june 2013, 9 march 2014, , 6 may 2014, @ attendees invited exchange views on strategies adopted achieve democratic reform.


on third deliberation day, occupy central participants voted on electoral reform proposals put forward various pro-democracy groups, objective of determining should put plebiscite. 5 proposals put attendees , 3 popular selected. proposal student groups scholarism , hong kong federation of students allowed public nomination, received 1,124 votes – 45 percent of vote. people power s proposal came in second 685 votes, while three-track proposal alliance true democracy consisting of 27 pan-democracy lawmakers got 445 votes. civil recommendation method proposed 18 academics got 74 votes , hong kong 2020 s proposal came in last 43 votes. total of 2,508 votes cast in poll.


all 3 selected proposals included concept of civil nomination, mainland authorities had flatly rejected not compliant basic law. 3 chosen proposals considered more radical, leaving moderate pan-democrats in cold, laying ground friction , division among democrats. league of social democrats , people power lawmakers, notwithstanding common membership in alliance true democracy, had urged supporters vote against alliance. snubbed civic party lawmaker ronny tong ka-wah, had seen moderate plan soundly marginalised in poll believed occupy central movement has been hijacked radicals . believed poll results make harder find reform package agreeable beijing. thought occupy central s plan block streets in central materialise.
