the 91 m long kilcunda bridge built on bourne creek. protected national trust. trestle bridge constructed victorian railways carry coal known powlett coal fields. particularly significant monument because of steam-locomotive fuel serviced victorian railways network, 1911 until 1978, crossed on bridge. since disused, bridge tourist attraction , part of bass coast rail trail. bourne creek spills on kilcunda beach , out sea of bass strait. seashell collecting permitted on kilcunda beaches.

walking, cycling , horse trotting modern use of old wonthaggi railway line year round. bass coast rail trail flat , begins near kilcunda @ roundabout phillip island , ends @ wonthaggi shopping district. can access along way, including @ kilcunda. victoria s coastal rail trail, stretches 16 kilometres anderson wonthaggi, meandering through farmland, coastal bushland, historic coal mining nature reserves , coastline clear view of wonthaggi wind turbines , remnants of coal mine buildings. trail crosses on powlett river , bourne creek trestle bridge @ kilcunda, has panoramic views of beach. kangaroos can spotted many bird species. extension of trail anderson woolamai, on phillip island, has not yet been made suitable cyclists. public toilets situated @ each town along way. public toilets in anderson situated @ bus interchange handles connections between san remo , inverloch/wonthaggi public transport routes. bus interchange adjacent eastern side of anderson roundabout.
